Update of the University Fernando Pessoa information in the Sakai Knowledge Base document about exploration and adoption plans at various institutions."After a one year successfull pilot using Sakai 1.0, University Fernando Pessoa integrated Sakai 2.1 with the University Information SYstems and is going into production in February 2006. Personnal data, enrollment data and course information is synchronized with the university systems, for over 5000 users, 3500 sections, and 3500 courses.
Courses are pre-populated with the basic Sakai tools, and Melete and JForum. Instructors can optionally add RWiki, News, and Message Center. It is expected that a Portuguese translation is available mid-term, although the english version was well accepted.
The system configuration includes a dual processor 4GB server, CentOS, Apache + Tomcat, MySQL, and storage in a SANS."
